Thanks for checking out my website! My name is Katie Diedrick, I'm a 21-year old digital artist based in Chicago, Illinois. For as long as anyone can remember, I've been walking around with a pen in my hand and ideas in my head (We have old books in my house that have been 'drawn' all over entirely with crayon). I have been passionate about the art scene since I first saw movies such as Little Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland and Aladdin.

I am currently a senior at The Illinois Institute of Art in Schaumburg working towards my Bachelors of Fine Arts, specializing in Media Arts & Animation. On the side, I work as a freelance artist, drawing character designs and illustrations for numerous clients. I have a working knowledge of Web Site Design, HTML, CSS, Animation, Illustration, and Character Design. I love to work with programs like Adobe Dreamweaver, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe Flash, and I often take time out to learn more about those programs and others, such as Adobe Illustrator.

In my spare time, I love to learn more about my field! Currently, I am trying to branch out and practice with sequential art. I'm an avid reader of web comics such as The Meek, The Phoenix Reqiuem, Vinci and Arty, and many more. I am in the process of scripting my own web comic, which I hope to be able to make public in the next year. Beyond web comics, I like to play and study video games and online games, and read as often as possible. My two favorite book series are His Dark Materials and Dragonriders of Pern, although I've also been known to delve into the worlds of Harry Potter and Discworld.

In the future, I would love to work in the field of children's book illustration, greeting cards, website design, or work with companies such as Neopets Inc.
